 Lastly: I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my beloved wife Polly Drake my whole

I, Benjamin Whitfield of Southampton County being weak in body but of sound
memory, do make this writing in manner following as and for my last will  
and testament (viz:)

I give and bequeath unto my son Benjamin Whitfield the plantation and lands 
whereon he now lives containing by estimation 335 acres to him and to his 
heirs and assigns forever __

I give and bequeath to my son Reuben Whitfield the plantation and lands
whereon he now lives consisting by estimation 345 acres to hold to him and to
his heirs and assigns forever.

I give and bequeath to my son John Whitfield the plantation and lands whereon
I now live containing by estimation 360 acres to him and to his heirs and assigns 
forever provided allways and it is my will and desire that if my said son John 
should die without heir of his own body lawfully beggotten in that case and not other
wise it is my desire that the lands equeathed to him should be divided between my three
Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Sarah and their heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I lave to my loving wife Mary Whitfield the use of one third part of the plan
tation lands and improvements where I now live  Also all the remainder of my
present estate after my debts are paid for during her natural life __

Item: My will and desire is that all the remainder of my Estate (after the death of my wife)
should be equally divided between my three Daughters Elizabeth Crenshaw Mary

Hargraves and Sarah Revel and thrir heirs and assigns forever

Item: I do constitute and appoint my sons Benjamin Whitfield Reuben Whitfield 
and John Whitfield whole and sole Executors to this my last will & Testament In
witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of the First
month one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven.

ecutos refusing) and proved by the oath of Reuben Whitfield and the solumn affir
mation ofJesse Vick two of the witnesses and this codicil thereto annexed was proved
by the oaths of Stephen Hancock and the affirmaion of Jesse Vick witnesses thereto &
ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the Executors who made oath according
to law certificate is granted them for obtaining a probat thereof in due form giving
